A meditation alarm for iPhone

The alarm you stop by sitting still.

Stillwake turns your morning alarm into a few quiet minutes of meditation. No snooze button. The bell only stops once you're up, upright and still.

Snoozing is a habit. So is sitting. Stillwake swaps one for the other, five quiet minutes at a time.

How a morning works

From bell to stillness.

Set it once. Every morning after that, the bell does the hard part.

01 · THE BELL

It rings, even on silent.

Stillwake uses Apple's alarm system, so it rings through silent mode and Focus like a real alarm. Tap Stop and your prep time begins.

02 · PREP TIME

Wash your face. Find your cushion.

You get a few minutes to get up properly. Then a second, softer bell calls you to sit.

03 · THE SIT

Prop your phone. Sit upright. Be still.

The front camera checks you're sitting upright and still, right on your phone. Slouch, wander off or fall asleep and the timer pauses. Go back to bed and the bell rings again.

04 · MORNING KEPT

The bell is done for the day.

Finish your sit and the alarm switches off until tomorrow. Your streak grows quietly in the background.

The live mirror

See what the camera sees.

While you sit, a live mirror shows exactly what the posture check sees. Gold lines on your head, shoulders and hips mean you're upright. Slouch and they fade to grey, and the timer waits for you.

It rings again until you sit

Stop the alarm and crawl back to bed, and the bell comes back. Finish your sit and it's done for the day.

3–20

Minutes, your choice

Start with five. Go longer when you're ready. Breathing is fine; it's slouching and wandering off that pause the timer.

Works on silent

Built on Apple's alarm system, so it rings like the Clock app.

Emergency stop

Real emergencies happen. Hold to stop, any time.

Why a bell

I spent years as a Buddhist monk. The hardest part was never the sitting. It was getting to the cushion.

Every morning the bell rang, and every morning we went. Not because we felt like it. Because the bell rang.

Stillwake is that bell. No voice telling you how to breathe, no feed to scroll. Just a bell, a cushion and you.

Questions

Good to know.

Do I have to meditate to turn it off?

Yes, that's the idea. You sit upright and still for your chosen time. If there's a real emergency, Emergency stop ends the alarm straight away.

Is my camera video saved or sent anywhere?

No. It's analysed live on your iPhone and never recorded, uploaded or shared. Stillwake's privacy label is Data Not Collected. Read the privacy policy.

What if I've never meditated?

That's fine. There's no technique to learn. Sit comfortably, keep your back straight and stay still. A short guide shows you how to prop your phone and sit.

Will it ring on silent?

Yes. Stillwake uses Apple's alarm system, so it rings like the built-in Clock alarm, even on silent or in a Focus mode.

Which iPhones does it work on?

Stillwake is built for iOS 26 and works on iPhones that support it. You'll need somewhere to prop your phone, like a small stand or a steady surface.

When is it out?

Soon. Stillwake is in final testing and is coming to the App Store first.

Tomorrow, wake up still.

Stillwake is coming soon to the App Store for iPhone.
